When I first started putting together this event, I had planned to post this giveaway towards the middle or end of the month. But then I started looking at pictures, and realized: M is sporting this product in just about every picture I’ve taken of him since May. So, I figured if I love this product THAT much, my readers will too. So what is it? It’s his baltic amber teething necklace:

Historically, Baltic Amber has been used in Europe as a natural and traditional remedy and curative for many ailments for centuries. I’ll admit. When I heard that, I didn’t really buy it either. But when I was given the chance to review a teething necklace I figured I’d give it a shot. Inspired by Finn has made a believer out of me. All the Moms that pointed me to amber in the first place were right. As I mentioned here, we really didn’t have much trouble with the first few teeth. But when we got to tooth #7 it was like a demon had come and possessed my sweet little boy. He was cranky, fussy, wouldn’t sleep, was biting me, the dog, himself – basically anything that would hold still long enough for him to get his mouth on it. M was NOT a happy camper. And then our necklace arrived. I drove home from work that day dreading the fussy, cranky, unhappy M I was going to have to put up with only to find a little package of joy in my mailbox. I put the necklace on M immediately:

There wasn’t much change right away, but he was a bit more manageable because I had hope again. The next morning I put the necklace back on as I was getting M ready for the day. That day I noticed nothing. When I say I noticed nothing I don’t mean there was no change – I mean I didn’t notice anything different about my baby… which was a DRASTIC change from the past few days. No more demon child. M was back to his usual cheerful self. And you know what else happened that day? The tooth cut through!! So on the day where M was in the most pain, the day that should have been absolutely miserable, I had my cheerful, happy, good spirited little man.

M has worn that necklace ever since. 2 teeth (and counting) have come in without any major issues or behavior problems. And M? Well he looks absolutely darling in his necklace. I (and everyone that sees him) thinks he looks like a little surfer dude. The combination of the brown and yellow beads just look fabulous against his skin.

The necklace “clasp” is actually a tiny screw. It makes it easy to get on and off of a squiggly baby because there’s no trying to hold open a clasp while you put that teeny tiny little ring through it. At first I thought a screw would be even harder, but I was way way way wrong – it’s super easy.
