Birthday Bash: AppleCheeks

I had heard so much about Apple Cheeks Diapers before I got my mini test to review. I had obsessively stalked giveaways hoping to win – and if you follow me on Twitter you’ll know how many times I entered the swim diaper giveaway! I’ve wanted to try one out for awhile, so I was thrilled when the owner, Ilana said she’d participate in Birthday Bash.

For all the talking I’d done about Apple Cheeks, I never totally understood that they were inserts… almost pre-folds and covers. I had checked out the website to look at colors and prices a million times, but never actually paid attention to what I was looking at. When the mini-test got to me I was scared. Pre-folds?!?!? I DON’T KNOW HOW TO USE THESE! You know what my favorite part of the Apple Cheeks diaper is? They come as an insert and cover, but you can use them as a pocket diaper if you want! SWEET! So I used it as a pocket diaper and loved it. No leaks, great fit, M had a ton of mobility. It was also noticeably thinner than most of my other cloth diapers. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good fluffy but, but it was awesome that I could easily slide M’s pants on him without battling to get them up over his diaper.

Since I had it, I decided to try the Apple Cheeks as a insert and cover. It worked fabulously. No leaks. Easy to put on/take off. The first time went swimmingly well, the second try I didn’t line up the insert perfectly and a little bit of pee got on the inside of the cover too. Not a big deal, and it was a small learning curve. I now LOVE to use the diaper as an insert and cover instead of a pocket diaper. It means I have a little less laundry which is awesome. Now for my big announcement… after using the Apple cheeks as an insert and cover for a few weeks I found out I was absolutely, 100% hooked. I started selling a few of my older cloth diapers and stocked up on Apple Cheeks. Apple Cheeks have become my go-to diaper during the day, and I’m stalkerish excited about when the new baby comes and I can buy more and try out their size 1 diapers.

Apple Cheeks has two sizes of diapers, one for newborns and one for 15lbs and up. One thing I really liked is that the size 2 fit M’s waist very well. It’s hard for us to use sized diapers because his legs are chunky, and he’s tall… but his waist is very thin. The Apple Cheeks work just fine on his waist and his little legs still have plenty of room and mobility without any leaks.

Ilana has graciously offered to give one of my ever so lucky readers a free insert and cover! You can easily go buy some more of the Apple Cheeks inserts and use them as inserts and covers – or you could just use what you get sent as a pocket diaper! Want to know how to win?
